COVID-19 and Working Out

Updated: Jan 19, 2021

I know how much working out means to you and that a change in your routine can be stressful, disappointing and disruptive. If you are worried about being less active, please keep these things in mind:

🚶‍♀️Any activity you do is key to maintaining health benefits, including a boosted immune system and an improved ability to manage stress. Keep moving, even if it's walking, which, by the way is very effective exercise. 💪 If you find that you are less active during this time, please don't panic! This is a temporary change, and your long-term fitness progress and goals will not be derailed. 🍎🍵 Your body is not concerned with the size of your jeans, but of what it needs to function in each moment. Focus on recognizing and satisfying those needs with nutritious food and adequate fluids. 😴 Sleep! 🧘‍♂️ Minimize your stress. Restrict your time exposed to news and social media. Eat when you are hungry and drink when you are thirsty. Meditate, read a good book or some inspiring affirmations. Walk in the sunshine (or clouds - we can't be too choosy in Pittsburgh). Laugh. Create something: draw, write, cook, clean out a closet and create some order. Reach out to someone who needs help during this time. Call someone you haven't seen in a while.
