"StrongerNow, and Mindy specifically, has changed the way I approach exercise. For most of my life, I've been intimidated by weightlifting. It always seemed dangerous - an easy way to injure myself through poor technique. Additionally, various joint issues made me unwilling to push the boundaries of my capabilities. Traditional hypermasculine gyms were unappealing at best, and often inaccessible due to distance or cost.
Then I discovered StrongerNow. I was immediately impressed with the intake process - Mindy truly and thoroughly listened to all of my concerns. From the first class, I felt welcomed and supported. The other weightlifters were friendly and non-judgemental. The immediate sense of safety (mental, physical, even spiritual) generated by being in a space built by women, for women, cannot be understated. It gave me the confidence to try things I've never dared to do before, and to push myself past what I thought possible.
The small class sizes means that you get plenty of personal attention. Mindy is very good at proactively offering alternative exercises that work with your body's specific limitations - be that injury, illness, pregnancy, age, or anything else. Safety comes first. Mindy teaches good technique as well as skills to help you keep your fellow lifters safe too. There is no competitiveness around the size of weights you can lift - only encouragement when you reach a personal goal.
All of the equipment is in very good condition and is very clean. It's always fun to learn how to use a new tool or technique - be it a weighted ball or ropes or bands.
There's no boredom in repetitive sets - every class uses different exercises, or different combinations of exercises . . . Their carefully constructed schedule means that there is always something new, whether you only come on Tuesdays, biweekly, weekends, or every session they offer.
Because of StrongerNow, I was able to go from being scared of a 5lb hand weight to confidently squatting ~100lbs. I consistently notice improvements in my day-to-day life from being stronger as well. The classes are absolutely worth every penny.

I know that the class will be supportive and that I have control over making the exercises work for me. I am getting noticeably stronger and my balance has improved as well.

As someone who's never felt comfortable in gyms before, something that is special about classes here is how comfortable the environment is and how lovely it's been to work out together with women of all different ages. I like that class feels focused on trying new things to discover what you're capable of and how everything always feels approachable and within reach of trying.
